How to resize an image to an exact size
Use this image resizer when a form asks for an exact pixel size or a printed dimension such as a 3.5 by 4.5 centimetre passport photograph. You can resize by pixels, by percentage, or by physical print size at a chosen DPI, and optionally cap the file size in the same step. Frequently asked questions
How many pixels is a 3.5 by 4.5 cm passport photo?
At 300 DPI it is 413 by 531 pixels. Choose print size mode, select the passport preset, and the tool converts centimetres to pixels for you at whatever DPI you set.
Will resizing stretch or distort my photo?
Not unless you want it to. The aspect ratio lock is on by default, so changing the width updates the height automatically. Unlock it only when a form demands exact dimensions that do not match your original ratio.
Can I resize and compress at the same time?
Yes. Tick the file size option and enter a KB limit. The image is resized to your dimensions first and then compressed until it fits, which is exactly what forms limiting both values require.
Does enlarging an image improve its quality?
No. Enlarging stretches existing pixels and cannot add detail that was never captured. For the sharpest result, always start from the largest original you have.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. All resizing happens locally in your browser with the Canvas API, so your photos and documents stay on your own device.
